An unhealthy obsession with SD70AC leaders on the RF&P Subdivision has led to seeing #4582 leading a train through this area for the third time. Something about these engines makes us want to go back for more every time we hear one is coming.

After the suspension of cab signals on the RF&P Subdivision, any engine with PTC can lead CSX trains. As seen here, SD70AC #4582 leads southbound manifest M301 towards the Rippon VRE Station with 48 cars of trash from the Northeast in tow. Since this engine does not have cab signal technology, it and many other old locomotives could not lead trains through this area before the official cab signal suspension on June 15th, 2024.

Nickel Plate Road SD9 358 assisting in a ferry move to Hillsdale, MI to turn the excursion train with Nickel Plate Road 765 on the other end. The SD9 put out a little exhaust leaving Edon Ohio behind.

NS 1580 the first SD40 ordered by the N&W in May of 1966 is getting towed by NS 171 by the PRR & Big Four Depot's at London, OH. This unit is bound for the TVRM in Chattanooga where it will get a new coat of Blue paint for their passenger trains.

BNSF Through Power passes by Aragon GA on the Atlanta North End on Norfolk Southern. Heading back out to the Powder River Basin for a round of coal. Also you may notice that both of the number boards are missing. No idea where they went or who or what took them.

After blizzard conditions shutdown BNSF across Nebraska both the Lincoln and Alliance rotary snowplows were sent out to clear the way. BNSF 972558 has just busted through a small drift on the Bellwood Sub.

A nice treat on 10/15/22 was an SD40-3 (online and helping too) trailing on M202 through Folkston, Georgia. While more common in some areas, seeing one active on a road freight is something for sure.

UP 5895 East has just backed up onto its train at the east end of the North Platte yard. The colorful consist includes CN 8888, CN 2021 and NS 4275.

On a gloomy, May Day. A couple of friends and I ventured out for the Jacksonville area. After stopping by Simpson, Baldwin, and many other places, one of my friends had found the Jax Port switcher switching out cars for customers. As soon as he found it, we rushed over to grab a couple of photos, this being my favorite.

St. Louis Car Co R36WF 9586 (1963-1964), is the lead motor on a 6 car NYC Transit Museum excursion for the 20th anniversary of the last revenue run of the "Redbird" cars. The train is running on the IRT White Plains Road Line and did a loop from South Ferry in lower Manhattan to E238 Street in the Bronx.
