After the previous chase of the Indiana Rail Road's Marathon local being quite bad. I set out a mission to achieve a more successful railroad chase. So I set up at Palestine Airport Road where there was still good sunlight and set my settings how i wanted them. After catching them there I went just East of Robinson, IL where they descend a grade and go through a curve. Photos taken at Palestine, IL and Robinson, IL. -photo taken on February 22nd 2024.

Running almost half a day off their normal schedule due to both their own equipment issues and a CSX freight with its own issues blocking them on single track, Amtrak Train No. 50, The Cardinal, crosses the Great Miami River Bridge in Hamilton, Ohio as our middle daughter (and budding railfan) Naomi gives a friendly wave to the passengers and crew. While I'm sure everyone on board was probably frustrated, maybe her little wave brightened someone's day.

Indiana Rail Road GP38-2 #3804 sits still ready for more moves when needed in Palestine Yard in Palestine, Illinois, this locomotive is by far INRD’s roughest looking locomotive, could definitely use a makeover, but makes great B&W shots in my opinion.

Kansas City Southern SD70ACe #4122 made its way onto INRD (Indiana Rail Road) trackage for Mont Eagle Mills in Palestine, Illinois and Oblong, Illinois. all photos shown here are in Palestine, Illinois this train would make its way to Oblong for pickups and then Newton, Illinois to interchange with the Canadian National and take it from there.

Hiawatha-Newton Turn move with INRD 4004 and 4005 in the lead, this train would eventually get to Newton, Illinois and interchange with the CN and return to Hiawatha. Photos taken in Palestine, Illinois on February 17th, 2023.
