A Different Kind Of Heritage

By: Micah Turner

Description

A Different Kind Of Heritage - CN 3115, painted for BC Rail, leads a rerouted B241 into the yard in Corbin, Ky, and past the old L&N Depot. The heavy rain had now slowed to a drizzle as we stood on the old station platform. The BC Rail is the farthest thing from the scene of an old L&N passenger train rolling in here in the 50's, though the red, white, and blue scheme does resemble that classic "'Murica!" feel. Out of sight on the other end of the depot is L&N 2132, the only remaining L&N-built steam locomotive to exist. Funny enough, the day marked the 7-year anniversary of its dedication here in this very spot. Who knew that 7 years from that moment, we would be standing at the depot awaiting our train.
