UP 6906 leads PAL LSX1 southbound by Horse Branch, KY. - For years, PAL, also known as P&L or Paducah and Louisville, has had an empty NS coal train come out of Louisville. That train would run roughly 145 miles or so and terminate at Warrior coal mine in Madisonville. This usually has NS power, but around late August, NS put a UP GE, an NS SD70ACC, and a BNSF GE on the train. I heard the train was coming after going to church on a Sunday in early September.
