Amtrak 517 leads Amtrak 51, the Chicago-bound Cardinal through the Indiana countryside on the former Monon, north of Reynolds, IN. 517 is leading the Beech Grove equipment move that wat attatched to the train at Indianapolis, and has a few cars returning to Chicago for service after needd work.

Amtrak 5, the westbound California Zephyr, rolls through Downers Grove, IL. The train was 30 minutes late after traffic along the BNSF Racetrack held them up, despite an on time departure from Chicago's Union Station.

Well I took this picture of Union Pacific 1482 idling at the fuel rack/sanding towers within the Pueblo Union Pacific Railroad/BNSF Railway Railyard servicing area waiting on its next assignment.

SSW 7253 (Cotton Belt) west leads a Chicago-Los Angeles Sealand double stack train through the new double track at the former Tully siding east of Benson, AZ in March 1995.

Well here sits Union Pacific 4170 in a long line of other Union Pacific locomotives on a Repair In Place (RIP) Track in the Pueblo Union Pacific Railroad/BNSF Railway Railyard.

KCS 4667 pushes the rear of CP grain train GMETJR into the Scouler grain facility at Jerome, Idaho on the Eastern Idaho Railroad. The KCS 4667 is passing the head end power with CN 2917 and BNSF 3728.

CN 2917 and BNSF 3728 are backing down through the Scouler grain facility in Jerome, after unloading a load of grain cars. The GMETJR is a CP grain train that comes from Eastport Canada to Jerome, Idaho on the Eastern Idaho RR. CN power is quite unusual on the EIRR.

FEC 822, a Liquid Natural gas car, and FEC 811 bring their power into the diesel facility at Jacksonville yard. The ES44AC units sport the new "FloraMex" paint scheme. Similar to the Ferromex units in Mexico.

The Florida East Coast converted SD40-2 719 into a new Autonomous Track Inspection Vehicle FEC 2414. The unit is placed behind the head end power consist to inspect the rails on the journey south to Miami and return. The unit also sports the new Grupo Mexico paint scheme. The locals call it a "FloraMex" unit.

SRS 131 heads Westbound through Little Falls New York.

New York Central B-11k 0-6-0 number 6721 Sits on static display next to Utica Union station covered in snow. New York Central 6721 was built in December of 1913 as NYCHR 621, it was renumbered to New York Central 6721 in 1936. On July 21st 2015 a runaway hopper car would hit the front of the 6721 knocking it backwards and hitting the portion of the building which can be seen in the background of this photo.

Southern 154 crosses the Holston River Bridge for one of the last times for its current boiler ticket. 154 is due for its next 1472 inspection and will be out of service for a bit

SP 7349 west leads the Chicago-Los Angeles double stack at the Vail crossovers MP 1000. The train is meeting its eastbound counterpart LACHX.

Eastern Idaho Railroad WAMX 3812 and 3820 wait at the Rupert yard fir their next assignment.

UP 5437 east leads the MPDNP-04 just east of Shoshone. Today's consist includes former SP 9721 (UP 1124) in the consist. The SP unit still shows its original lettering and paint. The only thing UP is the number board and on its side of the cab.

UP 4048 East leads the Los-Angeles to Dallas Texas double stack that is about to pass under Interstate 10 know as Empirita. This former mainline track is now a long storage track used for cars and even locomotives east of Tucson.
