It's 4:15 am at the Tucson yard as Rio Grande 5344 East has stopped with CIKCA-13 (City of Industry CA-Kansas City Autos). The train is getting refueled and waits for a new crew before departing later that morning. The consist includes RG 5344, SP 7608 and SP 6807.

SP 8489 West leads the BSMFF "Blue Streak" past the semaphore signal at Cienega Creek with the last of eight detour trains due to a derailment just east of the bridge in September 1990. The consist includes 2 Sd40-s and Rio Grande 3147.

Cotton Belt (SSW) 9624 West leads the BNSXF underneath the normally westbound track at Cienega Creek bridge due to a derailment just east of the bridge. Eight trains were detoured on the eastbound track on this September 23, 1990 day.
