in 2017, signal changing were reaching the Altoona area and onward. By July, signal workers and other maintainers were working on installing new wiring and equipment at AR interlocking at the top of the mountain. A new full signalbridge would be installed, covering all 4 tracks. Thankfully instead of a cantilever.

With beautiful clouds in the background. This was a very pleasant evening. A great sunset, and shooting the B&O signals at South Deshler for a couple of hours was very enjoying. The next day would be the NKP 765 trip across the Indiana Northeastern Railroad.

In an industrial area 5 miles Southeast of Conway Yard, is a place called Leetsdale PA. This place is a place on the NS Fort Wayne Line between Pittsburgh and Conway. 2 Big PRR Signalbridges used to stand over the tracks and guide trains in both directions, and was a very popular location due to Rt 65 being right next to the tracks. Trains would move at a fast pace in both directions either heading to Conway to Recrew or Head into the yard and heading to Pittsburgh and points east. These signals would replaced in September of 2019. With installation of PTC. And is just another plain location on the line with switches and signals.

2 Westbound stack trains go through CP Wood at the same time, although I started the exposure a few seconds too late to get the train on track two dropping the signal, seeing two FREDs moving in the same direction is pretty cool. One can notice the interlocking is on a curve and made for slow speeds crossing over in either direction and a heavy maintenance headache for MOW crews

A Westbound is lit up at CP Wood a few miles west of Beaver Falls PA. This interlocking was removed from service and replaced with a new improved CP in 2019

AR Interlocking which is at the summit of the Alleghenies on Track 1 of NS's Pittsburgh Line featured an original set of PRR signals on a big signalbridge. These stood for about 100 years and have been replaced by new safetran garbage. Can't get any better than these old classics. Sorry to see them gone.
