BN 3147 "Tiger Stripe", BN 8003 and SP 8353 bask in the morning sunshine at the BN Interbay yard in Seattle, WA in March 1986.

BNSF 3124 and BNSF 8630 work to interchange cars with the Little Rock & Western across from the UP Little Rock Union Station. This local will continue east back to Memphis, TN.

BNSF 3120 and BNSF 2543 lead 2 cars eastward through Cheney, WA back toward Spokane. The BNSF GP50 3120 was originally painted in the experimental "Tiger Stripe" paint scheme when first delivered to BN.

UP 5515 west (Ex-CNW 5058) leads BN 5029, UP B4295 (Ex-MP) and NS 9143 is stopped just east of the Tucson yard waiting for a clear signal to continue west.

UP 901 (Ex-CNW GP50 5052) leads a colorful consist with SP merger 9351, SSW 9652, SOO 768 and SP 8323. The eastbound double stack is preparing to leave Tucson in 1996.

Eastern Idaho power rest at the yard in Rupert, Idaho. WAMX 5005 (Ex-CNW), WAMX 4041 and WAMX 4019 wait for their next assignment. Note the red bell on the nose of the 5005. This was taken off of the Austin & Western 5001.

Eastern Idaho railroad operations are run out of Rupert, Idaho where the have a sizable yard and engine facility. WAMX 5001 still in Austin & Western paint is a former C&NW unit. Next to it is a former CN unit now EIRR WAMX 4022.

On a rainy and very mild, almost Pacific Northwest-like summer afternoon in the Ohio Valley, the Indiana & Ohio Railway's Blue Ash Local returns to McCollugh Yard in Norwood, Ohio, after working a customer on the Blue Ash Subdivision, seen here crossing the bridge over another I&O line, the Oasis Subdivision, behind I&O GP50 No. 5013 (originally built as BN 3103). The interlocking on the Oasis Sub, as the sign notes, is known as CP RIDGE, which is still guarded by classic Pennsylvania Railroad Position Light Signals.

Our three daughters wave to the crew of Indiana & Ohio train L202-01, the Blue Ash Local, from the platform of the depot in the suburban Cincinnati community of Silverton, Ohio. The depot here is a replica of the original Cincinnati, Lebanon & Northern Railway structure, and houses a museum. The girls' late grandfather was a firefighter for the Deer Park - Silverton Joint Fire District for many years, so I'm sure he would've loved seeing his granddaughters greeting a train here.
