A Splendid Mastodon
SP 2914 stands with all her accessories and lights on for the day at the Kern County Museum. Southern Pacific 2914 is a 4-8-0 TW-8 steam engine. Built in 1898 by Schenectady Locomotive works . Nicknamed the Mastodon she serves as the last of her breed as all other TW class steam engines from the SP have been scraped.
