As another beautiful late summer day dawns on the Ohio Valley, CSX local freight J787-25, known locally as the St. Joe Job, heads west out of Cincinnati on the former Baltimore & Ohio Railroad mainline to St. Louis (today CSX's Indiana Subdivision), passing the classic B&O Doll Arm Mast CPL signal and the Dwarf Signal at the East End of Delhi Siding in the Cincinnati suburb of Delhi, Ohio. Sadly, these signals have since been replaced.

A pair of EMD four axles, led by CSX GP38-2 No. 2681, power road local freight J784-01 as it starts the climb west out of Hamilton, Ohio on the former B&O Indianapolis Subdivision, crossing the bridge over the Great Miami River after a fresh snowfall.

The Pennsylvanian, Amtrak's passenger train between New York and Pittsburgh, roars across the historic Rockville Bridge as it makes its way through central Pennsylvania. Led by GE P42DC 122 locomotive, the train passes a westbound Norfolk Southern freight train as it traverses the massive stone structure. The Rockville Bridge, built in 1902, is a marvel of engineering and a testament to the industrial strength of the region. With its towering pillars and graceful arches, the bridge spans the Susquehanna River and serves as a vital link for both passenger and freight rail traffic in the Keystone State. As the two trains pass on this cloudy day, it's a reminder of the important role that rail transportation plays in connecting communities and moving goods across the country.

This was taken in the evening of January 5, 2013 at CP Shepherdstown on the Norfolk Southern H Line approximately 20 miles south of Hagerstown, MD. The train is sitting northbound in the controlled siding and had just got a diverging clear signal after a southbound train had just passed.

As the sun sets on a cold winter evening, the Norfolk Southern Manifest Train barrels through Cassandra, PA with its bright headlights piercing through the falling snow. The snow-covered landscape and the orange and pink hues of the sunset create a stunning backdrop for the powerful locomotive. The train's determination to continue its journey is a reminder of the resilience and strength of transportation, even in the harsh winter months. As it chugs along, it leaves behind a trail of memories and a promise of new adventures to come.

With an SD40-2 leading is about to split the signals at Magnolia interlocking. Can clearly tell the rails were lower inside of Stuart tunnel to allow doublestack containers in the tunnel, with a little bit of notching apparent as well.
