This photograph captures the Amtrak Pennsylvanian train passing the site of the Westmoreland Glass Factory in Greensburg, Pennsylvania. The train is led by Amtrak P42DC 130, which has been repainted in a 40th-anniversary paint scheme featuring the Phase II livery that adorned Amtrak trains in the mid-1970s. The factory, which operated from 1889 to 1984, was a significant local landmark but had been abandoned for decades. Unfortunately, the site was partially destroyed by fires in 2012 and 2017. However, in this photo, the train passes by the factory's remnants, a reminder of its place in the community's history and its perseverance over time.
