C40-8 2007 leads a NB Loaded Limestone train the South end of Coons siding. It is passing through at track speed and is meeting a U717 taconite train that I have been following for many miles. 3 C40-8s and a SD40-2W is the road power for this train

in 2017, signal changing were reaching the Altoona area and onward. By July, signal workers and other maintainers were working on installing new wiring and equipment at AR interlocking at the top of the mountain. A new full signalbridge would be installed, covering all 4 tracks. Thankfully instead of a cantilever.

An SW1500 is light and is about to hit the CSX/IHB diamond at Calumet. This is a nice location to hit. Trackline coverage easily available. Access to the location is right off a main road. The IHB scheme is one that was around back in the 1940s I believe.

An ex Southern SD40-2 unit has had it's original high nose chopped for a short hood cab, called an Admiral Cab, due to the distinct front windows tilting downwards.
