Changes looming at AR
in 2017, signal changing were reaching the Altoona area and onward. By July, signal workers and other maintainers were working on installing new wiring and equipment at AR interlocking at the top of the mountain. A new full signalbridge would be installed, covering all 4 tracks. Thankfully instead of a cantilever.

With the Reading and CNJ Heritage Units for power. Interesting is that at the time of this photos upload. 1/17/2023. Both units are at Altoona PA for repair. Train is the 747 to Shire Oaks. Look how good both units look! Quite different from today.

With an SD40-2 leading is about to split the signals at Magnolia interlocking. Can clearly tell the rails were lower inside of Stuart tunnel to allow doublestack containers in the tunnel, with a little bit of notching apparent as well.
