Its early spring in Hurricane, WV. I could see heat waves coming off the track, it may have been 70 degrees; a pleasant surprise to the rain and cold we had lately. I sat for about 20 minutes waiting on this train, expecting the common GE or SD70. To my surprise a SD50-3 was on the point. We don't see many of these so I was quite pleased with the picture I got,

NS 4370 a GE AC44CW leads a manifest with a GE ES44 Trailing. The AC44 Series of was made between 1993 and 2004. The GE ES44 better known as a "Gevo" was put into production in 2003 as the ES44's predecessor. Both of these series of engines are the most common GE's seen today with some AC44s being slowly fazed out.
