Welcome to the Railroad Gallery!
Thanks so much for your interest in my railroad art. These drawings and paintings reflect some of the trains that have touched our lives. My art represents trains scenes in the mountains and plains of Montana and North America for collectors to remember the rails at home and at work.

For many years, watching trains and hiking the tracks has been our main family hobby. My grandmother worked for the Great Northern taking supplies to locomotives during World War II. My husband enjoyed trains all his life. His grandfather worked as a signal maintainer for the Southern Pacific.

I am an art adjunct professor at Carroll College and have had the honor of showing my art in museums, art galleries and publications nationwide. "Roll-By in the Rockies," a Milwaukee Road painting is the featured artwork on the Union Tank Car April 2002 calendar. My artwork is included in the Washington State Arts Commission's Permanent Collection. Recently I enjoyed being a guest artist on the Smithsonian's Art Train.

I hope you enjoy my railroad art as much as I have enjoyed creating it for you,

Linda McCray, Montana Railroad Artist

Notes from a Few Customers
"Yes indeed your art made a very special gift to give and everyone was very appreciative! Linda, I can't thank you enough for your quick turnaround on the order."
Fred Rutt, Burlington Northern Santa Fe

"Your drawings of 'Live Wires' is a great historical rendition of one of the stories told by my father, a career man with the Milwaukee Road. Stationed in Milwaukee, he nevertheless spent much time under 'Live Wires' on Lines West. You definitely have the touch on keeping the Milwaukee Road Alive."
Dick Melzer, Colgate, Wisconsin

"Thanksgiving, 1979" was all I had hoped for and more. Spare and lean, nothing superfluous, it is truly evocative, snowy railroad scene, a sense of stillness, even loneliness, it goes beyond technical proficiency. A perfect example of an intangible know as the artist eye. Congratulations! I can hardly wait to order my next print."
Tom Houlihan, Berwin, Illinois
