SP 8380 East arrives into Tucson with a WCHOM train and parks next to an Ex-Southern SD45 3155 on lease to the SP in March 1989.

SP 7828 East departs Tucson under a colorful rainbow with a "rainbow" consist. The consist includes MP 3051, HL (MP) 2057, VMV Paducah 6673 and SP 7485 on train symbol WCHOM in October 1988.

SP 9333 West powers the BSMFF as it meets SSW (Cotton Belt) 8091 East with the LBEST at Mescal in the late afternoon of March 1998.

Rio Grande SD40T-2 5373 is the point unit of the 3 SSW (Cotton Belt) units: 9662 (GP60), 7281 and 7279 (GP40-2) at the Tucson Yard engine facility. Storm clouds are forming to the east as the monsoons continue on this September 1998 afternoon.

SP 3846, SP 1500, and SP 1502 are heading to the Colton engine facility after bringing an eastbound local freight to the yard. Thirty nine years ago today, I took the day off from work to go explore the Los Angeles area railroad yards and photograph some trains on my birthday. When I arrived at the UP Los Angeles yard, I was very surprised to see the brand new EMD SD60 units #1 and #4! The units were buried inside the diesel facility, so I sat and ate my lunch waiting for an opportunity to photograph them. A shop mechanic saw me with my camera, walked over to the units, uncoupled them from the consist and back them out into full sunlight. He had a big smile on his face and said, "Have Fun!" I quickly put on my hardhat and started taking photos. The mechanic even revved up the engines and I got a great cassette recording of them. What a great birthday gift.

NC&StL 710 backs onto TVRM train 100. During COVID, TVRM was running 4-5 car locals. With so many cars, they couldn't preform full train wye movements. So the engine went around solo

SP SD45T-2 9305 and UP GP30 713 sit side by side at the SP Los Angeles Taylor yard. The SP 9305 is about to depart up the coast to San Francisco and the UP 713 is on a transfer job.

CP 5475 High Nose SD40-2 "B" unit (Ex-Southern 3247) and CP 5784 with SP 7450 at the Tucson yard in 1996. CP power was leased for the power hungry SP. Both CP units show the CP/Rail America scheme.

Due to a heavy thunderstorm the previous night the WNYP's Driftwood turn and Farmer's Valley job both outlawed. The next day saw the two comboed with 6 MLWs and 2 ALCOs up front headed North back to Olean.

CP255 is lead by a SOO SD60 as it crosses Harbour Draw. The 255 departs from the NS in Buffalo, NY, it travels over the NS, CSX and CN before reaching home rails. In several hundred yards the train will cross the Niagara River into Canada.

LB-1 passes the burned out remnants of the old New York Central depot in Lockport, NY.
